Where does the price data come from?

The UK Government’s official Fuel Finder open-data scheme. PetrolWatch refreshes the feed four times an hour and shows the last-updated time for each station.

What’s the difference between Cheapest Nearby and Best Value?

Cheapest Nearby finds the lowest pump price in your radius. Best Value also counts the fuel you’d burn driving there and back, using your own car and real routes.

How does Fuel On Route work?

It compares the extra distance of travelling via a station with your direct route. Only the detour counts against the saving — not the miles you were driving anyway.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Your latest station list is cached on-device, so the app opens immediately. PetrolWatch clearly tells you when you’re viewing cached data.

Is my location shared?

No. Location is used on-device to sort stations and calculate distances. Always-on access is optional and only needed for nearby-station alerts while the app is closed.

Do I need PetrolWatch Pro?

No. Live prices, the map, history, statistics, alerts, widgets and Apple Watch app are free. Pro removes ads and adds route planning and fill-up tracking.
